So this description has the Saturday and Sunday schedules returning back to pre-2023, i.e., the "fun" stuff on Saturday and the "fast" stuff on Sunday. Is that true?

I saw that, too. I'm not sure, and I haven't asked Erich about it.stickboy007 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 2:07 am So this description has the Saturday and Sunday schedules returning back to pre-2023, i.e., the "fun" stuff on Saturday and the "fast" stuff on Sunday. Is that true?

Gonna be a very stressful Friday getting the fast stuff ready. Hopefully using sauce will save me all of the trouble I had last year during open practice

The only reason for the switch was to guarantee 3 quals in the "big 3 " classes because of RCE running club races on Sunday. If that will no longer be a problem, I would rather go back to running those on Sunday.

if anyone has tire and sauce info for that track I'm all ears. I've not driven on modern dirt yet, only Carpet, Turf, and old school loose dirt.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

There is a discussion about tires.
I've only raced there once, May of 2003, and I was on silver slicks all weekend. But it was a brand new layout. I talked to someone the other day that said if the layout is older, which it seems like we will have, some tread will be needed. Another guy on FB recently said the most common tire used is a green Jconcepts Ellipse. But depending on conditions, you'd want a set with tread, a ghosted set bald in the center with tread outside and a slick set.

So from everything I've read, it looks like you're going to be anywhere from clay slicks, to clay treads, to super soft treads, to super soft ghosted treads. Seems to me that even if you're a little bit off on the compound, then you can mostly make up for it with sauce.

Guy said it's going to be a fresh layout for the VONATS. This will likely change tire and sauce combinations.

Here's the RC Sign-up link for anyone not on FB. Because of the cost of shirts, Erich will not have a bunch of extras on hand to give out if you wait until race weekend. This is the only way to make sure you get an event shirt. Make sure your profile is updated with the correct shirt size.
