Original 10T:
Race - Teflon shocks/dogbones/bearings
Team - Teflon shocks/universals/bearings
Sport - gold shocks with plastic caps/universals/bushings

B/T2's:
Sport - gold shocks with plastic caps/dogbones/bushings
Race - Teflon shocks/universals/bearings

B/T3's:
Basic & Sport - gold shocks with plastic caps/dogbones/bushings
Team - Teflon shocks with plastic caps/MIP CVD's/bearings
Factory Team - Teflon shocks with plastic caps/MIP CVD's/bearings
ARR & RTR - Blue shocks with plastic caps/dogbones/bushings

I can't voice my questions at the other forum I frequent without much hand-wringing from a few folks that think questioning anything Associated does will result in them becoming upset and pulling the plug on the whole re-release program (on a forum not devoted to AE or the RC10, wow I never knew my words had such power, lol, yeah, right).
I get the thought process but from a business standpoint Associated or Thunder Tiger will want to know what the market demands are. I don't see why they'd shut down the whole operation due to some constructive criticism, as companies aren't in business to produce products that aren't popular enough to garner a return investment. At least ones that want to be around long anyway. They need to read what the misses will be from the consumer to understand what the hits are.

As mainly a collector myself, It's always super cool when a company takes that into consideration, but understand when they don't as they're not in the business to protect peoples investments. Since the re-release market began, I've always maintained the same mindset about it not necessarily hurting collectors. Stuff is only original once! The only way I feel it hurts the collector market is by reducing the buyer pool. Before the re-releases started, anyone who wanted these items were forced to seek out originals. With manufacturing starting again, that's no longer the case. It's actually beneficial to collectors in a way as now people aren't buying up the original vehicles and parts to ruin by running them.

Good lord, are those bearings in the front wheels? They wouldn't dare put bushings in a team car kit, right? Hard coated shocks and finally a rere buggy with a stealth trans all in the box. This one is going to make it very hard to wait for the graphite kit, unless they will be released at the same time......... Oh my poor wallet. :x
Old school racing all the way!

I'm stating the obvious but from a business perspective, AE's objective isn't to protect nor harm the vintage collector market, their goal is to sell as many new kits as possible.
If I'm shopping for a pristine Team Car and my options are the NIB vintage car posted on ebay (for instance) or purchase a new re-release from AE, I might still choose the vintage car if the re-release isn't identical in every way to the vintage original. However, if the re-release is identical to the original, I might purchase the new car instead.
Since the re-release market is built upon nostalgia, how does changing the new car's anno color make it more desirable and drive sales?
