Its on the outside of the shell. Look at some of the pictures of Brian's car and you can see it being worn off in some areas

Thanks. I will try to zoom in.

My LHS guy calls me a box art junkie lol. I just really like lots of the box art cars 🤣

The replica car they built on here to give to brian has the original body from the worlds. I have pics downloaded of it somewhere but not on my phone. I'm pretty sure the "game over" on the wing was also sharpie

You can see it where that line intersects with the back areas its a different shade and you can see the shadow the marker casts on the paint especially on the wing.

YIKES! Nearly 30 bucks for a single shock tower??
Is the Iridium from the KT boundary or just glitter?

Lets make a Jay Halsey edition. It's a basic stripe paint scheme that anyone can do with masking tape and rattle cans - let's cover most of the body with stickers to replicate it.
Lets make a Brian Kinwald edition. Its a drip pattern across the body with a thin border that's going to be very hard to replicate accurately without having the car to hand - lets not bother with any of that.
The thin border was sharpie on the original
Really?
Man, I wish I had known that before.
Painting the thin black outline was incredibly tedious.

I'll definitely use a Sharpie next time.

Definitely looks better painted but the sharpie lines are something most of us probably didn't notice since we got mostly low res pictures of it in magazines that we saw the car in.

So when we s this thing being sent out? I have a pre order, but, have been ridiculously thinking of dropping the pre order. It's a cool car, but I'm 50 and who cares that it will be worth 800 in 10 years and if it's still sealed boxes. If I were 20 I might keep it for that reason, but really what good is it other than to stare at it on the shelf or leave it in a box.

I don't think anyone will drive these

May 25th is the date mentioned on one of the preorder sites. If you are only wanting it for the profit I'd throw it back and let someone else enjoy it.

There's a few of us that will be driving them. Afterall, What good is a replica without patina? I never buy these things for their collector value I just like driving them, although I'll never be asgood as BK at driving it.

I think you'll find more of these driven and raced than any other re-release so far. It's the racing spec version of the RC10, it's got modern updates over all the other rereleases. It's going to be similar to the JJ Ultima, a special limited edition commemorative model yet by far the most common Ultima found on track these days. It's why I bought one, not to keep it pristine but as a modern racing buggy for the vintage class.

In 10 years time a new in box one might return what you paid for it, if the vintage RC10 market hasn't collapsed by then as old RCers will be of a different age and will be chasing B3s and B4s. But that's probably more than the whole load of 40th anniversary editions that will still be around that were bought before the flood of models started. Personally if I was going to put one away for future profit, I'd go for the metallic edition. Everyone is ignoring it, 'modern' collectors have stopped buying all the RC10s to have all of them, and it's a numbered chassis. They are going to be so rare compared to all the others, well, except the green edition.
