Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
I actually have a jr2 chassis with the sides cut in my pile of spares. Kinda wish i caught tou before you shaved the sides on yours lol.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
Thanks for the offer. I have a few more Jr2s including a NIP in the stash, so it was a bit relaxing to cut on this one. The bottom is pretty nice, however, so not too relaxing.

Had a few minutes at the bench to start to bolt things together.
I tried the Dragonpunch Ti shock shafts. They are a bit rough compered to OEM Losis (on the right).
They look good assembled with the MIP bodies- but would not use them on a serious runner. They'd chew up the o-rings with a quickness.

The 4-40 ballstuds are quite nice, though.
The ballstuds fit well with RPM ends.
Mix in some Tecnacraft Ti turnbuckles. Gonna perform so well on the shelf.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
Rear coming together with XX retro in 2.6 ratio mocked up to check dogbone lengths.
Even though this will be a shelfer, I had to tweak the axle placement with shims to shift the bones inboard a bit.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
I have a set of Trinity Point Blank wheels and tires from way back. The rear tires are in good shape, but the fronts were dry rotted. While searching for replacement front tires, I stumbled upon some Amark wheels and tires that looked very similar to the Point Blanks. It turns out, they are the same.
Original rear
Original front after removing dead tire. You can see the unique beadlock design, similar to an 1/8th scale buggy.
Front wheels polished..looking good.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
I used an Ultrahive decal to create a replica Jr's Choice motor from a 16x2 motor of unknown origin. It looks decent next to the real deal in my Jrx Pro.
Trimmed and painted a rough motor plate. Added a hydradrive. Color combo is a bit Ronald McDonald.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
Thanks!

Now with a XX CR body I painted back in the day (a bit poorly - I must have touched up some spots after removing the window masks and dusted the windows a bit).
The XX body sides are a bit short for the Pro SE chassis, so I may decide to swap to an SE body.
Anyway, it makes for a decent looking race buggy as-is, I think.

Looking very clean. I really like the look of those Trinity rear tires. Looking forward to see what electronics you add.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
Been thinking about this a bit. Have a pile of stuff to restore. Tekin or Novak? I had a Novak 410-M5 in my Pro back in the day.

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
The Novak M5 with a 3 wire conversion would be right for a racer, as would the Ner 2x. Novak always had a great relationship with Team Losi too

Very nice!
I just love how you can mix and match so many variants of the Jrx platform.
Looking forward to seeing this highly tricked out Junior finished!

Re: Losi Junior Pro Se
My original Novak 410-M5. I converted it to 3 wire I think by following an article in RCCA back in the day.
I decided to clean it up and solder on new wires and a new switch.
Cleaned up an NER-2X also.
I have a NIB Futaba S9101 servo that seems about right, just need to get a servo saver for it.
