Too bad that book is really a big piece of wood pulpy poop. It's a bunch of cut-n-pastes from web forums, and is terribly repetitive. You can find out everything in that book (and a LOT more) if you read the Big Jim forums on http://www.rccars.com. There is a lot of stuff in that book that isn't even current information.
It's not worth $80, that's for sure—though is was selling for around $40 when he was still alive, if you can believe that.

for electric motors, its a "decent" guide for maintence and such.. most of the info is super redundant, and alot of it you will never use in a million years.
