Clean out with baking soda, I bet it will still work fine.

...yeah it actually did work out fine. In fact there was virtually no damage to the plastics or the spring contacts and I use NiMH batteries for the XL2P's anyways. It was just very misleading and I overpaid, and if I'm buying old stuff I only like having new condition. The radio itself is in excellent condition but not a 10 so I can actually use it and display it without worrying about dinging it up so it worked out ok.

On another note, these came... one of the last pieces for my recreation of my childhood RC10L...

Seller's picture but it did show up in the post yesterday, just haven't had time to unbox it yet. The black Tyco Turbo Fast Traxx pick-up was my first "cool" r/c prior to the Futaba FXT. Been keeping my eye open for a fine example at a decent price for a few years, and have passed on a couple good deals prior, but finally pulled the trigger on this quality looking unit.

It was a great day for mail! :D I've been looking forward to this showing up!

A huge Thank You to @GoMachV for the opportunity to get my hands on one of these awesome kits!

I will be using a new Team Car for this build. Any advice on wheels/tires and other recommended parts would be greatly appreciated 👍

Finally found some slot car sized brushes. I have a couple of motors that need them.

Got a care package of bodies from a good friend on Friday....
Body Lot.jpg
From left to right:
Back Row:
- 2 x cockpit sets, in black ABS
- Knockoff Nissan Skyline body
- Ford BA Falcon body, dressed up as a Police cruiser
- Subaru WRX, just need to add a rear wing
- Yum-cha knockoff McLaren Mercedes body (even says McRaren!), almost new
- 3 x cockpit sets, in clear lexan

Front Row:
- Ford Escort Mk1 2-piece body, in black
- Ford Cortina Mk1 2-piece body, in white

The cockpit sets and 2-piece Ford bodies were popped by the friend than sent me the whole lot... same person who did my other Mk1 Escort, and the decals to suit. It's great to have so many skilled friends!

Going to be busy ;)

More basic Tamiya tourers.... this time a cheap TT02.
20250624_143016.jpg
Looks to be fairly stock, but with aluminium prop shaft and what look like a nice set of Sakura alloy shocks. Tamiya brushed / brushless ESC is a bonus, and a metal geared Hitec servo doing the steering.

Already removed the angle iron rear body mounts.... think this may become a VTA car, if I can bring myself to a) paint and mount the body; and b) use some of my stashed VTA wheel and tyre sets. Will probably repurpose the ESC, at least.

This was a few days back, but made my day. The Silver Triple Designs ST-1, fully 3D printed 1/12th scale. Looking forward to this build!

Been looking for a gear cover for my SC10 for a little while now but, seemingly like most slightly older parts these days, prices for NIP parts are crazy - and that's without considering shipping!

Then, this little lot popped up from one of my go-to sellers here in Oz, for what equates to just under US$16, delivered...
20250628_080616.jpg
So, I have the replacement gear cover I need, and a spare motor plate as a bonus, for cheaper than the postage alone would be from the US for just a gear cover! Sure, I can't use the motor guard, but I'm still very pleased with the deal.

Now, if I could just find similar sales for all the other project parts I need......
