Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
thanks guys.
yup, i'm looking for the jg decal in the pic that jay posted. the one i used on the car is from an autographics mini-sheets. to make it look similar, i cut the wings (i guess that's what they are ) off of either side. i kinda wish i had a larger reedy decal on the roof, too. but, that's the largest size i have that is just the outline of the letters.

Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
I checked all the NIP JG parts I have and my spare sticker bin too, and every one of them is a fluorescent color.
I was thinking maybe the white was from one of those autographics sponsor sheet sets, being as several of the other stickers were also autogrphics, but I guess you ruled that one out already.

Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
that's awesome. now i know how to trim the wing. it's hard to tell in the magazine ad with the white background.Dr. Robotnik wrote:Excellent JH poster, posted by Lastenfield...

i'm gonna keep my eyes open for a pretty nice A stamp tub to replace the one i have. i'm kinda thinking that the pic of halsey's car a few pages back with all of the holes drilled in it (the reason i drilled mine), isn't really his. although i could be wrong. but there's an article in the scan archives where he says he doesn't drill holes in his chassis because of it allowing dirt to get inside, or something along those lines. not to mention, all of the pics that i KNOW are halsey's car, the tub isn't drilled.
i also need to relocate my electrics and move my antenna, going by this pic. and get a white battery cup with a fiberglass hold down.

Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
Hi every body,
On the NOVAK site, they say that Jay used a Novak 1 on his car like Gil Losi in 4wd:
"Novak establishes themselves as pioneers in the R/C speed control market with the design and introduction of their first electronic speed control, the NESC-1. By comparison to today's speed controls, the NESC-1 featured an on-resistance of 0.0025 ohms (4.3 times the Cyclone's on-resistance of 0.00058). Novak's speed control line is completed with the introduction of the NESC-2, NESC-4, and NESC-1X. Electronic speed controls make their first World Championship appearance at the 1985 Off-Road Worlds, with both Jay Halsey (2WD) and Gil Losi Jr. (4WD) using the NESC-1 to capture World Titles."
Jay finally used a Novak 4 or a Novak 1 in 2wd on WC 85' ?????
Bye PRP.
