No rc10t body
Now finished after a few mishaps my rc10t i still cant find a body or decals well for a reasonable price so i went with a t4 body. This looks nice but not what i want. Is this the team version with the hardened shocks??

Re: No rc10t body
It looks like a 7001 "Race Truck" (the first truck kit), note the two hole front and rear shock towers and lack of a graphite trans brace. The Losi wheels and Striker tires don't help.
I can't really tell 100% if the front arms have a single shock hole, but they appear to.

Re: No rc10t body
Well i am a pan car guy so the tires are only natural and i have put the factory rims on the losi ones just didn't seem right. So help me out the two hole shock towers make it the team truck? I have the graphite tranny brace but was unsure of the version. Thanks for the info Ryan

Two hole shock towers do not make it a Team Truck. The Team Truck got three hole front and four hole rear towers.reign79 wrote:Well i am a pan car guy so the tires are only natural and i have put the factory rims on the losi ones just didn't seem right. Older post, pictures were removed in an effort to not give away info to the choppers, but you'll get the idea.

Well chopper im not but i do say everyone is just trying to do what they like and i cant bare to see any vintage rc put to shame so anything i have i will give it as much life as i can due to the love of vintage rc. And though i could due exstensive research i thought my fellow vintage rc guys would not mind the help.

Re: No rc10t body
Just read these last posts and now I'm wondering if I've created a mish-mash. I've got all the signs of a team truck at least that's what I started off withI guess: thick shock towers front and rear with the correct number of holes, front arms that have a second mounting hole.
I found all new wheels and tires but they are all 3 piece so not correct(apparently) and also put on gold shocks with black anondized caps(apparently wrong) but I do have the grey teflon shocks.
The body I found is a new race body and now is that ok with a team truck or both?
Biggest dissapointment is the wheels and tires as they are all brand new came right out of the package and I have the narrow and wide fronts,
Tis a puzzlement as to what to do. Maybe nothing but I am kind of leaning more to Temples point of view that if you are going to restore make it as accurate as possible. Is there any value difference to a restored Team truck compared to the first model? Lot of questions, eh?

Please don't take it the wrong way. That post was from a while ago, things do change over time. I certainly am glad to help my fellow enthusiasts.reign79 wrote:Well chopper im not but i do say everyone is just trying to do what they like and i cant bare to see any vintage rc put to shame so anything i have i will give it as much life as i can due to the love of vintage rc. The narrow race body is Team Truck only, the 7001 and 7011 used the wider body.
Do whatever you wish, my personal opinion is to preserve the rarer versions rather than shotgunning a bunch of NOS, possibly incorrect, parts at them. Some of the early black truck (and Team Car) chassis just don't exist NIB, amongst other things. I look at my collection of 7001 trucks and the differences in just over a year's production are significant. That being said, I am making a replica of the truck used in the 7001 manual... only because I've done my homework AND found the elusive early Team Car black chassis with only offset countersunk front battery holes. I really need to get a life.a01butal wrote:

Thanks Temple, maybe a little investigation on my part would go along way.

Re: No rc10t body
Try a 10T2 body, it fits almost perfect, all you need to do is buy the rpm body mounts and mount the body post on the inside mounting holes.
I did it to my truck and it worked out great.

Re: No rc10t body
+1 on the T2 body. The T4 looks too T4 for me.....
Do not buy the "vintage" T2 bodies off ebay (unless they go cheap of course). You can still get them from Associated or anywhere that stocks their stuff.
