The color of your neck is not what concerns us, it's those NASCAR undies you wear, you know, the yellow ones with the brown racing stripe.

Ha ha ha ha! Nice one...I DO have a 1.1 scale car up on blocks...But it's an actual race car and it's NOT on the lawn!
Flat spotting tyres is a real concern, all my restored cars with N.O.S. rubber are elevated.
Nice displays,guys.
Yes,I looked into buying a store style display cabinet and they ain't cheap!
I think I'll just build something...My 10 car collection just swelled to 11.
I'm thinking a unit that'll fit in a corner, two flat sides and a rounded front...Time to go to the lumber yard.

Curved front cabinets are a pain to build, I would recommend a faceted front. Also, corner cabinets tend to be a bit useless because of the small triangular shelves. I would recommend more of a standard glass fronted cabinet to maximize the interior space. If you've got 11 models already, then you're going to want something that you can get at least 3 models per shelf on, considering that you want them displayed between waist and head height, I would say that's a cabinet that's about 4' wide. If you went with a hutch style, you could use the enclosed lower half as parts/runner storage and the top half for display.

When it comes to the doors, you might want to think about frameless glass and use stereo cabinet hardware to hinge/catch the doors.

Just a couple ideas, for what they're worth.

A couple of dmn fine ideas,Halgar.
Yeah, the corner unit won't work...Three cars to a shelf, four shelves with hinged glass doors sounds like the best bet.
Restored, vintage RC cars are too cool not to be on display!

I would agree (about the vintage R/C on display ).

Being a bit of a woodworker and contractor by trade, I've seen plenty of things, and built a few of my own, in regards to display cases, bookcases, and general things of beauty. I'd be happy to email a few things that I've personally built over the years if you'd like something for inspiration. I'd even help you design something to fit into your personal space, using tools and equipment you have at hand, if you're interested.
