OKAY,

I wasn't aware, as I only run sensorless so far, and THERE the timing is in the esc. (Castle Creations, Hacker...)

I still am suprised that the sensored timing is mechanicaly set in the motor.

Okay I think I get it, the "receiving sensor is in the can cover, and it's position relative to the coils (fixed in BL) determins the timing. Sounds simple, but effective.

Thanx for the info Asso.

A grabbed a motherload of Hyper-Drive parts recently and figured I would put it here for reference. In fact I just needed one belt/pinion/spur gear combo for my sprint car. What is pictured here might appear in the BST very soon.

Some sensored systems also adjust timing in the speedo. SpeedPassion GT and Tekin RS are examples. I believe the new Losi sensored can too. It's my understanding while not adjustable, the Novak GTB has some fixed timing advance built in.

Back to the original subject, while going through my old mag's last night I found a couple of hyperdrive ads showing a more extensive kit for the rc 10. This kit not only had pulleys and spurs but also a specific motorplate. (I think we saw it on someones car here before) And, what I didn't know: a hyperdrive specific transmission casing.
According to the ad this kit allows wider ratio variation.
I don't have a scanner and the pics are tiny...sorry. The ads and 'new product reveiws' are in RCCA around september '91

There was an auction some time ago that was a car and many parts and it had several Hyperdrive motorplates and even a Hyperdrive gear covers. After the auction ended I contacted the buyer and asked if he would sell those parts or all the Hyperdrive stuff to me and he was willing but said I should wait. I have contacted him again but alas I am still waiting and now this is over 6 months so forget it. They were nip also.
