Gear Covers for early cars

Post by minichamps11 »

Are the 6608 gear covers still available for the early RC10's like the 6 gear tranny & the Championship edition? I've been looking and can't find any. Have Associated changed the part number to a newer design that's backward compatible with early cars?

the 6608 were discontinued over a year ago. as far as I know none of the currently available ones are a direct fit.
There are some early style covers in lexan available on ebay regularly.

I have used the covers from racer 8838 they are high quality and come ready to install you just have to drill or ream the screw holes.

I know a handful of aussie vintage racers that would love to get their hands on some of these gear covers but the seller doesnt ship outside the states last time i asked. I wonder if anyone could help us out?

Have you tried to just buy them off him....I've found that while a seller might not specify Australia or what ever they are often more than happy to sell to you..

I was asked to be the "Go Between" for some of these, and am perfectly willing to try to help you Guys out over there, but have never done anything like this before, buuuut I would also like to have one of these Covers, so Im game.

Maybe you guys can get together on how many it would take to satisfy your Demands, and I can just ship to One of you.
As I said I have no experience in these matters, so would not be offended if someone wanted to step in.

Otherwise, what do we do next?

I thankyou for stepping up also. I have emailed the seller and will see what he says this time around. If he refuses to ship 'down under' then I will get some numbers together and get back to you. Many thanks for the offer- Jason.

Hi,

I am the person who asked Monster if he could act as a go-between to buy two cover after the Ebay seller emailed me to confirm he won't ship abroad.

Monster, if you could find the shipping costs for a small packet to Australia/UK then perhaps we could all pay costs up front & you could do a bulk-buy from racer8838? That would be a huge help :-)

Cheers

I received an email from the seller and he's prepared to ship to us in Australia if we put together a reasonable order. I wanted to thank those who stepped up to offer assistance. Cheers guys. :D

Jason, you must ask nicer than me, I got a point blank refusal to ship to the UK! Monster - can you let me know if you're happy to post on to the UK, if not I can jump in with the Oz lot and ask Jason to forward some. I'm after two covers, one type with the slipper bung and one clear lexan covers without (guy sells 2 kinds - one of each).

Cheers,

Ian
