Re: I wanna build a General Lee. What are my options?
Hi guys I am new to this site. Halgar told me to come here.
I have a general lee that I got at walmart $30. It has a metal body and a little box that comes with it that plays the dixie horn. The body won't fit on a touring car chassis though it's just too small. It looks like the same one in the video.
P.S. Halgar stole that video from me. After I fair and squarely stole it from someone else. Hope no one finds out

If you analyze this vid at all you really start to see just how well done it is. Not only was the subject matter done perfectly, you've got the storyline and all those camera angles as well. The editing is great. The only improvement I can see is if they'd have used the original show's theme music as well as a parting "general lee horn" in the parting shot, or even overlayed when the general jumped.
Top notch vid, excellent execution! Kudo's to the guys that made it.

Does anyone have pics of their General Lee rc10s? I'm currious to see how the different bodies fit. It seems like the Bolink is your best bet.

The BoLink body page that was posted is I think for archive purposes only. You can't buy anything directly from it or even get to it from the BoLink site. I'm also betting the molds to make most if not all of those bodies are long gone.
I actually own thee 55 Chevy 2 door body thats shown on that page.

Ooohh! Yeah! RC10 General Lee is Kewl... I have an RC10 with a goofy coupe body of some sort mounted (see below) - I would love to swap it out for a nice General Lee body!
If anyone finds a good '69 Charger fit for an RC10, I would buy a duplicate of your creation for a very fair price.

Bolink is still active. I couldn't get to any pages as well, so I emailed them. They responded stating all bodies on their site are for sale. Later I found out that I could only access the pages using Internet Explorer. Chrome,Firefox & Opera wont navigate the Bolink site correctly for some reasonLowgear wrote:The BoLink body page that was posted is I think for archive purposes only. I find it interesting that Scott, considering his musical tastes, and a guy who paints F40's and Lamborginis, and who lives in the big city would choose this country bumpkin subject for his project, however, there's something about an obsolete, clapped-out race car that's appealing (Herbie?)

I grew up in Iowa and watched the Dukes of Hazzard every week as a kid. That and CHiPs were my favorite shows in the early 80s. Also, I grew up around American muscle cars, lots of them. My dad still has his 69 Buick GS 400 that he ordered to his specs from Buick, and many of his friends are car guys as well. To be honest, at this point I get more excited at seeing an orange 69 Charger than a black Lamborghini. They are rarer out here. Plus, 9 times out of 10 the guy in the Lambo is well... not very cool.

btw, that 61 Impala body looks killer!
