I painted this with generic spray paint ( on the out side of body ) when I was 14yrs old .
Image
then stripped the paintImage
the resprayed it black .... it still looks like crap , but it is just a runner body .
Image
I will have the original body set painted professionally some day .

This one is another body i stripped and resprayed. That is how I practice painting . this is my second paint job ever .
basically wanted to practice masking the windows .

I think I can guarantee a winner with THIS one....Here's an old body that I sprayed in about 2 minutes.
It is BAD. Like, REALLY bad! Hahahaha. Even worse was I was in my 20's when I did it. NO patience, just wanted a lid to go running with. As you can see by the missing pieces, the body took a beating. I drive it like I stole it, still do. 8)

RedScampi wrote:I don't know if this counts but this is a failed attempt to "save" a body that was cracked from nose to tail. While stripping the paint it became brittle and ended up splitting in half. I shoe-goo'd it together, added filler and sprayed it on the outside. Ultimately I gave up on it but I think it's still around here somewhere.
I appreciate the heroism involved in trying to rescue so battered a body ...

...Shoe Goo, filler, external paint...

...these were desperate measures in desperate times!

Mr.Pink, that olive-green + yellow combo--I actually like it! It's definitely unique.

Probably not my worst, but still pretty horrid.

Paint streaks everywhere, poor masking and the colour

I don't have a picture but you'll be able to imagine the horror when I first saw it...

My buddy painted the outside of his Hornet body w/ truck bed liner, its awful!
JRX2 in the late 80s... have since come to my senses with the RC10T, yes of course it's vintage! Wife is always destroying her Tamiaya LunchBox to call me her personal mechanic a few more times. Enjoying the fresh build of an RJ Speed Digger.

But, I bet it was well-protected from rock chips & scuffs.

That was his reasoning... but it didn't stick very well... could be because we thrash that car regularly though.

These are better than my best. Lol. Like that first black one. My buggy is all black but don't think my tape job compares.
