Shock Oil vs Shock Silicone?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

Yes, simply put, all oils get "thicker" as the temp goes down. The colder it is, the thicker the oil is going to behave, which is why when racing indoors in the winter, you have to use a step or two lighter oil in the shocks than normal.

There isn't a fluid on earth that doesn't change viscosity with temperature change.

But shear thinning is a whole different thing :D
