optima mid se shock oil
After getting my optima mid off the cabinet last weekend for some backyard track action, I noticed that one of the rear shocks became unscrewed and leaked out all of the remaining shock oil. I was wondering if there is comparable shock oil to the vintage 1951 (kyosho medium viscosity oil) that will work with these shocks? Just something that will be good enough for small jumps would be nice, but figured I would ask the kyosho experts before trying anything.

I'd slam some 30 wt silicone shock oil (Team Associated, for example) in the shocks. If the seals and whatnot still meet your standards, you could disassemble and clean your shocks and then reassemble with fresh oil. Or clean out the bodies and caps (probably could use some automotive Mass Airflow Sensor cleaner to clean without damaging the seals, or a soft clot to wipe them out.
OR
just dump and fill and hit the track.

Hope you're doin' something fun.

Re: optima mid se shock oil
I had that in mind in terms of the 30wt. oil figured it was the safest bet other than purchasing ultra scarce 25-year old silicone oil. Everything looks ok, but I might just try to change out the o-rings. I wonder if these new style ones are the same size: https://www.ebay.com/itm/KYOW5184-05-Kyosho-Shock-O-Ring-8/401103507762?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
