Re: my latiest and greatest find AYK SHUTTLE
Well done man,its pritty sad when people are bagging out about this.As long as the buyer is happy which he is,thats the main thing.Congrats on finding such a rare buggy, even if it has a few flaws.Atleast you wont feel bad if you decide to run it.
Re: my latiest and greatest find AYK SHUTTLE
Firstly I accuse myself of and concede that I am now harping (sorry
) Prolonging this is not directed at the author but at Vintage Racer and the seller.
Lest I be accussed of 'bagging out' I reread the auction description because the seller description vexes me...
"The condition of this car is outstanding! It was obviously assembled, and it has a few light markings on it where you can tell it was operated a little, but its condition shows that this one had VERY LITTLE use. It obviously sat on a shelf in its box for most of its life. Other than the dust on it from sitting for years,, many aspects still appear in near new condition!"
The seller has conveniently neglected to show the bumper in the underside shot 7...I wonder why:
Finding a shuttle bumper is harder than finding a shuttle and that seller deliberately left off the bumper from the underside photo because the problem would be too obvious.
Devious and dishonest seller in my opinion.
PS I do take this somewhat personally as I bought an Optima Pro described similarly only to find it so thrashed that the dogbones had worn completely through (no kidding not squared but through- never seen that before) the outdrive slots were near round, the belt drive had been run at length without the idler cover so the rear gearbox was silver dust from the final pinion. The shock mounts were missing about 2.5mm ( one to the shock screw) due I suspect from travelling on bitumen...upside down! Rather than complain I thought about starting a 'most thrashed ebay part' on here...
