One of these days.
And yes, if you do the math then by the time I got paid the next Friday I was already $100 in the hole. I was no master of economics, but I had a lot of fun!

Well, if this thread is going to completely de-rail than I'll tell this story:
On Monday I would cash a check for $20. On Tuesday I would cash a check for $40. $20 would go to the bank to cover the $20 check and I would live on the other $20. I would repeat this process in various amounts all week. Week after week.
I worked with a guy back about that age that had it down to a science...well almost. He would get paid on thursday and open a checking account at some bank with $100 and go to another bank and open a checking account with another $100 and keep the rest of it for misc.(pry around $50 since he made the same as I did). He then proceded to write checks totalling well over that $100 until the temporary checks were gone from either account. Gotta remember this was before internet and stuff like that to link stores to banks. Come thursday he would do it again at different banks. Went on most of the summer like that .

While what I was doing was probably technically illegal, I think that above is a straight up felony! I like the way he thinks though.

Oh yeah...definitely a lil illegal . He got pulled over one day and low and behold he had alot of outstanding warrants in all his names . you would think he would have spent a few bucks on tires. Reason for being pulled over was he had a Ford Escort that was sporting 4(!) donut sized spares

A friend of mine did too... he ran over one of the neighboring farmers goats that got out and paid him $20 not to call the cops

Allright newage electronic gurus...Had this question come up to me and was wondering if you guys might know right off hand. I believe hitec has put out a cheap 2.4 radio setup and was wondering if the receivers would work with a spektrum radio. I...

Thanx for all the info guys. I knew there would be some good info come from my dumb questions

does anyone use the spektrum or similar controller and reciever? What are the benifits to it? It looks to me like its a wirelss system with a large antena on the reciever, how does it fit under the body and get good reception? pics of it on the...

i got a couple spektrums (dx2 and a dx3), and a react.
the spektrum (horizon hobbies) radios are really nice and simple, the ones i have are 3 model memory.
the react is a bit more complex but its pretty wild the things you can do with it.
For RC10 to RC10B2 antenna tubes, I think AE used some sort of milky plastic piping from a roll. I know about the Du-bro push rod tubes for RC aircraft, but they are not the same.
Anyone knows where I can find that exact piping?

Well, I tried .. It won't let me log in to my account to order it up. I've changed my password twice now and it still won't let me log in under any passwords.
Anyone NOT have it sticking out of the body? For some reason I feel they are very fragile (had one break from the receiver body already) and a friend rolled his and ruined the antenna and lost reception. Old school stuff took the abuse. Also...

my spectrum receivers are just standard bell wire antennas. Most of the time I route antenna with a 4inch tube if I can.
Not sure how 2.4 works but I imagine its like anything else digitally transmitted. Transmitter sends high frequency microwave...
Every time I run I break the antenna tube - part of the problem is that it has turned cold outside and the plastic has became more brittle.
Question is what is the best brand/type antenna holder/tube to at least make this a more infrequent...

Thanks for the input I think I will try the Trinity or Traxxas antenna tube next (I destroyed the left ASC6207 and have to order a batch of parts anyway - I guess 20 year old parts become brittle in cold weather too) - the antenna tube does have a...
