Drop me some info on the track your going to use the Terminator on, and what shell (EDM or Latemodel) and I will send you a setup and or tires- A couple of small tricks with those cars really make them come alive, otherwise they are just alright-

Dirtoval again was really different all over the country or even regionally- we went to a track in Illinois and in like 91-
Ran 10l's in LTO, with soft capped tires and RPM camber wedges with Wedge shells with side dams and destroyed all track records and Customworks teams because the track was soooooo smooth and grippy.

When the first Terminators were brought back from PA after the USOWC at our local track they were junk and fragile. A well prepped graphite team car in center battery would be 2-3 laps faster. Guys dropped 5 bills on one, then sold them for $100- then over a year or so after that we figured the chassis setup out and the Term was 6 laps up on everything!

Yeah dirt oval tracks varied greatly. Some were so hard packed and dust free that you ran foams. Silicone capped were incredible on some of them but many places outlawed them. On other tracks it was very loose and loamy and rough and a true off road car might work better. Most were pretty smooth but grip level never seemed to be a constant between them. Admittedly I only went to a few of them though.

the indoor dirt oval i grew up on was like that, so clean we ran foams alot of the time.
waffles were always popular too.

all my vintage stuff is all packed up right now because we are trying to sell our house, but i'm going to have to unbox some stuff and get started. i'll try to get a pic of my sprinter so you guys can tell me what conversion i have.

i heard back from one of the guys that races at the track in bethel ct, they run a 17.5 "outlaw" edm class, allowing boost and they are running on pink and silver foams. so it must be a pretty clean track. i'm really getting fired up now!

i also spent some time last nite helping my local track build their 1/5 scale dirt tri oval. the owner said he'd have no problem building a 1/8-1/10 size dirt oval in the middle.

what's a good clay/dirt to use for the surface? our offroad track has this gray clay that gets very powdery and it's expensive.

Mmmmmm, track construction is a whole different animal too- where you are, the natural clay in the ground is perfect. However.....the track is really slick until close to sundown when the natural moisture in the ground comes up-

I have foams for your surface too-

as soon as i get some funds i was going to place an order with kipp for a edm body and tires.

any particular body better then others? it's an outlaw class so bodies are kinda open i guess.

I got you covered on tires- and I'll build you a body (but you have to mount it exactly as I tell you) this track will allow full Floppers, and I just happen to be sponsored by the originator of that shell 8) I also run for RC4Less tires so I'm sure I have some scrubbed tires here somehere  Use your $$ to find a new front and rear tower-

you're the man reg.

anyone know where i can find a manual for the kranzel terminator?

i have seen them both mid and rear motored, the one i just got from eddie is rear motor, with some sort of adapter plate.

i've got to dig out my rc10ce that i caniblized for my WOIN car. i figure between the 2 rc10's i can build a gold tub edm and get the terminator going, so i'll have two edm's to choose from.

like i said earlier i have a mcallister lowering kit so i really just need to cut down an old rc10 rear tower i think.

that's what i figured. i mean it doesn't take much to figure out whats what. was just wondering.

i cleared saturday evenings with the boss (read wife). so as soon as i get my stuff in order i'm ready to get going.

i have electronics, going to use a tekin rs and tekin 17.5 and a 4000mah lipo. spektrum 6040 servo.

i may have to get shocks, not sure of the condition of the terminators shocks and i'll need some shorty's for the back of the ce.

That particular car and setup was from a really slick and small track in Syracuse NY, your going to need to make some large changes to that car for Bethel- not the end of the world but...very important

ok, now that reggie has straightened me out on the terminator, lets talk rc10ce based edm.

anyone have a preference on lowering kits? back in the day i used the jg kit, but it mounts the shocks to the c-hub which is kindo of odd IMHO. i have a brand new mcallister kit, any reason not to use that?

btw, thanks for all the help reg, it is greatly appreaciated!
