Staten Island is hurting.
Power is supposed to be back on in lower Manhattan tonight. It's been a surreal week working and driving around downtown Manhattan.

I haven't seen Eddie (transamman908) on here for a while, I think he lives in New Jersey. Hope everything is ok with you Ed!

I wanna say he lives closer in land, but lots of people here in PA still don't have power, so he might be one of the unfortunate ones without power still.

Me and my family luckily came out relatively unscathed. Compared to some of the truly unfortunate Sandy gave me a reach around...I only lost power for about a day and a half.kaiser wrote:i think we have a couple of members in nj and new york, staten island and brooklyn too. hope you guys are ok, check in when you can!

Came out ok in the middle of CT. Lost power, but in comparison to NY/Nj it doesn't seem to matter, hope everyone is ok

I've been following this closely and what a nightmare! I've had a major natural disaster here at my house in 2011. No power and out of my house for 3 months. It's a nightmare. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Hope things get better for everyone soon.

Re: SANDY AFTERMATH CHECK IN EAST COASTERS!!!!!
been stuck home for the duration, i live uptown manhattan, totally unaffected power wise but south of 14th st, a totally different world, friends have been running around trying to help out in the rockaways which is leveled, much like the jersey shore...
pretty freaky today driving with my buddy on the bqe and huge military trucks in convoy driving water tankers, the endless gas lines down mcguiness blvd in greenpoint.... too much of a reality check, first time ive ever felt the need to get out of the city for good....

Re: SANDY AFTERMATH CHECK IN EAST COASTERS!!!!!
I'm ok Al, Thanks for asking. Almost a week without power. I just got internet and phone back. I had some damage (tree loss, broken car windshield, gutter and roof damage) but not nearly what some of my neighbors had and nearby towns. They are telling freinds of mine in nearby towns that power may not be restored for 2 or more weeks. I at least still have my home and most important my life and family. It looks like it will take quite a while to get back to normal. Most roads are still closed and I waited 2 1/2 hours on line for gas yesterday. My heart goes out to those who lost everthing.a01butal wrote:I haven't seen Eddie (transamman908) on here for a while, I think he lives in New Jersey. Hope everything is ok with you Ed!
If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.
