I assume that is for the towers, Thats great! I updated the previous post asking if using duratrax tires instead of the Strikers would be obvious, as the price on them is still muy bueno!

the duratrax tires came out after the Striker II. The strikers were still in production until a year or so ago, should be cheap and easy to find. The Duratrash ones were not really used back in the day, they were super hard and very heavy.

On wow I didn't realize the strikers were that recent. I remember getting bulk boxes of those knock offs. I felt really sorry for the people expecting them to work. The original drift tires lol. I just figured pattern wise and shape, maybe I could pull off a switcharoo

The Imex rims are all conversion offset, but these are the Proline you mentioned right?

Yep, those or the chrome ones 8), we can "cheat" foams onto them as well and groove them to look like the MRP's as well-

Well, finally got the parts truck and cleaned it up. I still have the used mock up chassis on her but for the most part the rest is the finished product. Going to have a machinist friend do the work on the untouched black tub as I just don't have the patience to make it look good with a dremel.

Still needs proper springs and a few minor items

That one might stay in the box. You seem to have all my shiny new arms to build a "new" truck with

Plus this one has a ways to go. Chassis getting sent off soon 8)

Yes, the tie rods are being placed on the mock up tonight. I don't want to have extra holes on the finished tub. Except I may have to drill the servo saver access hole just for vintage correctness!

Very cool conversion. I guess I have to add another one to my wish list. That is an interesting clutch setup,I have never seen a rear mounted clutch like that, or clutch shoes like that. Are you sure that is the original starter shaft? It looks longer than than normal.

The rear start come was how they used to start them, helis had a similar setup but were typically a .32 engine.

The shaft is indeed special, after taking another look it is not simply machined. In the lot of parts I also got a billet rear cover along with the 2 stock style rear covers. Ill post up pics later

Got the braces on and a set of temporary wheels. Lovin the old paper filter. Its easy to see that Roy was going for balance, check out the centerline! Oh, and I am one very short tecnacraft turnbuckle from completing the set. Just need the center link.

Trying to decide if the duratrax head needs to go on it as well
