Nice idea!

Likely more money, but it would be less work to use adjustable shelf brackets, and no shelves, of course.

Like this, but with the wall mounted uprights closer together.

I really like this storage system. Let's see where in the house I can get away with this. :)

Oh shoot, I didn't even see your post, Todd. Sorry for being redundant  .

The only problem I see here is I'm not a full fledge collector like y'all. So this would only cause me to spend more money and put more vintage cars together. So now how do I explain this to the wife?

Man card...Oh I have that. But a happy wife is a good life. I try to discuss purchases and my "needs". Somehow I talked her into purchasing a 2012 Charger Magnum Racing Kart when I get back. So check that.

Maybe roll 2 orings on the back peg and one on the front. Keep the chassis from possibly sticking to a painted dowel rod??? Make em less likely to slip off as well.

The reality is often not that big of a deal.

We just ran through the house to do some updates of things for insurance and our living trust for the youngster. Turns out my wife's jewelry, purse, and shoe collection value WAY WAY trumps my r/c cars, surfboards and tools. AND btw, the purses and shoes hang in the closet on nice display racks.

I hear that. My wife has a ton of Beatles stuff and antique jewelry from her parent's collection. One ring was recently appraised for over $5000.

Did you come up with anything yet? I'd be very interested in something anti kid. :D At the very least, I think I may imply this rack idea in my workspace. Very good idea. Thanks!

It would be pretty easy to make a plexiglass cover for that rack. Install an L bracket to the back of the rack with the leg forward and a pin sticking up to index into the bottom of the plexiglass cover. The top could be similar so that the whole thing just lifts off. If you want "security", install a body clip in the upper pin to lock the plexi in place.
