Re: American Racing Conversion Sprint Car
The protoform body is too narrow. Will have to use a wider body like the gambler. Guess I'm forced to have this re popped as I'm down to my last one.

Re: American Racing Conversion Sprint Car
Bills killed the budget this pay period so on hold but might start mocking up. I got into contact with TBG and they state the Gambler body is in storage. Whatever that means. The Protoform body they won't recreate since they know the founder. Might look into a McCallister body.
Question, I'm thinking of occasionally running this car. Should I stick with the shorty arms or put on the wide arms? Obviously it won't hang with the new stuff but don't want it to be a lame dog.

Re: American Racing Conversion Sprint Car
When Jon at TBG says it's in storage, basically he already has one and it's a rainy day project. When they are slow and haven't got anything more popular going they will pour it. They don't see it as a big enough seller to put a rush on it. They have a couple of bodies I have sent "in storage" as I only wanted a credit on other bodies for them

I got the same reply about a year ago...I'm not holding my breath since they haven't made any yet. And another I asked about was a Protoform, so that explains why they wouldn't make it.

It wouldn't hurt to email Jon and let him know your interested in one or two bodies he has tucked away, it may cause him to realize they are actually sellable. More people need to request it.

Well LTO now needs this body too. That's at least three of us. Anyone want to start sweet talking MrLexan?

Re: American Racing Conversion Sprint Car
My remark wasn't just about the Gambler body...I'm also saying damn about him not wanting to repro Protoform bodies. I had one I wanted to send in for 3 other bodies I need.gomachv wrote:It wouldn't hurt to email Jon and let him know your interested in one or two bodies he has tucked away, it may cause him to realize they are actually sellable. Re: American Racing Conversion Sprint Car
Ahh gotcha
I almost nabbed that moody sprint body off eBay but by the time I clicked it someone else nabbed it. I was thinking it would be a cool one to reproduce too but it would have been a two or three piece mold and that wouldn't fly

Do you still have the link to the auction? My sprint bodies are all one mold. Ya just have to cut the sections out.

Re: American Racing Conversion Sprint Car
Not much to report since the whole house has been sick minus myself. Really have been procrastinating lately. Did manage to swing up to the race fab shop to go over the tub. It's funny as I'm in there with this toy with a Prostock in the front and a Troyer sportsman in the rear. He said he never worked on a "race car" that small. But the man is an awesome fabricator. Said he'll try to fit it in the next couple of weeks. So I guess that allows me to finish my CE, rebuild my buddies Pemberton and possibly start cleaning up the parts for this project.
