And 'they' say these are kids 'toys'.....! ('They' being the uninitiated of course.) Back when I used to erm....race.....I had to make do with a lot of hand me downs (no eBay back then) and cheap battery's. I used to marvel at some of the setups that guys used to bring along just to have a bit of 'serious' fun! Tents, awnings, gazebo's, the dog, deck chairs, picnic tables, Bar-B-Q's, grandmother........ you name it, they seemed to have brought everything including the kitchen sink!

Then there was the need for seven packs of battery's.....one for practice, four or five for the qualifiers and one for a final. That's getting on for £350 worth of batterys.......it's no wonder why I struggled to be anywhere near competitive.

Deep pockets required,......either that or an extremely enthusiastic father

Them were the days. :D

Adjust the price of the original RC10 for inflation. Lay out some paper towels first.
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

It sure would be nice if my crusty old vintage RCs would increase in value the way a new one has! At current prices, I would have to race a bj4we at very best to be able to afford it. Thats what, a 7 year old car? Still competitive Im sure.

the bj4 is still a good car it became the b44. even now the old xx4we is still a good car on the track
from hanging around this site i think its more the driver then anything being the new cars a just more
forgiving. but the prices seem huge. i did the math last year with the price for novak cyclone esc
back when i seen it in the hobby shop glass till one day i bought it shortly after it came out which
at the time it came was top of the line the price after inflation almost matched a good mid range may be higher
esc. that being said i still want this car im not a die hard to any brand. i have cars from ae vintage and
new tlr / losi vintage and new, hpi, and others. trying to grow the losi side of my collection i dont think 27
cars are enough. if you ask my she will say it is. but she understands its some of my overtime or extra cash from other things i sell. in the market sort of for a xx or pro se

Would love to get one... haven't had 4WD since the Javelin in '88. BUT....wife would not be happy, and would rather get something to bash in the yard with my son. Could get stuff for both of us complete as opposed to a roller to look at.

Has anyone heard if parts, to an extent, will be interchangeable with the XX-4? Mainly I just want to know if the 22-4 belts will work on the XX-4. I tried searching out some info, but didn't find anything.

Watch this, it should help answer some if not most of your questions regarding the new 22-4....

Thanks for the video link. I remember watching it right after the IFMAR worlds, but they never said whether the belts were interchangeable. About the 32 minute mark they discuss that some parts may be interchangeable, but don't go into much detail.

Thanks for the heads up. Damn that thread is still going! 8 years and 265 pages.. Puts our unending series or correlated pictures to shame.

Do you have a XX4 to compare it with?
