These arms in white were around for just a quick blip in time before they were all made in black. All around the same time period of the original Worlds car. There’s a quick mention of them in the 25 years thread as well. 05C7CF2E-84BB-4403-BC3D-676B6B500A91.jpeg
Oh I see, so you're supposed to actually read the captions not just look at the photos.

Before you started this post, I'd assumed short pin X brace arms were introduce with the Worlds Car.
The header card from the bag is early Cadillac so I think it predates the Worlds by maybe a couple years or more.
Either way, me thinks the white ones are kinda rare and if they were mine, I might be tempted to keep them in the bag. ...just saying. :D

You know what I was thinking about what your saying about the age of the header card and it got me thinking about the way the small instructions are worded. Could it be that this arm design was introduced far prior to the Original Worlds car being produced ? I just assumed that these were made because of the design being changed for the Worlds car. Being made both in white and black along each other until the CE kit started being sent out with all black arms (zebra cars).

Those short pin arms were supplied with coffin chassis graphite team cars, and sold as spares even after the black Worlds arms. Or at least they were on the shelf after the Worlds cars. I bought a few sets in 1994 or so, and discovered the need for the shorter truck hinge pins.

Probably best to save them for a period correct restoration. I had mine on a gold pan, because that's what the LHS had back then. Since put back in parts storage for when I do my coffin chassis car.

scr8p, how many years ago did you repair that chassis for me?

Ironically enough I actually have a late team graphite with that chassis. It currently wears mainly all black parts including the arms of course. I never asked if anyone thought it came that way. Been meaning to tear it down and get it cleaned up but free time has been hard to come by.

I eventually came across another set of these, so for the foreseeable future the new pair will remain in the package.

They’ve also got a couple other nice pieces stuck to them too…

I had a set of the late white 6355's in my 6035 team and 6036 graphite team boxed kits.
