Re: TRX1 Build
Jeff that is the one. I was going to machine my own but for 10 bucks shipped, not worth the 20 mins it would take.

Re: TRX1 Build
Did not get much done this weekend on the car. Finally got around to ordering the shocks for the car. Still waiting on the final parts to finish the tranny.
I have the majority of the chassis drawn and ready but until I finish my machine this project is going to stall. Hopefully I can get my machine up and running soon so I can call this one done. Really looking forward to setting this one on the track.

Re: TRX1 Build
Got the tranny parts in and I was not happy with the STRC layshaft. It spins true and is of high quality. What I did not like was it places the spur gear a considerable distance from the motor plate. After some thinking, I decided to do some quick machining on the layshaft to give me the closer fit I am looking for. The layshaft moved in the machine as I was making a cut and screwed it up .
New layshaft has been paid for...
I was able to put the tranny together and was able to fit my B4 gear cover. Fits great and has plenty of room for the gears to mover freely without getting into the cover. After fitting the cover, I milled the tab to use with the OEM Traxxas cover. The B4 cover fits great and looks like it was always meant for the car. Drilled and tapped two new holes.
Hopefully I can have more updates soon.

Re: TRX1 Build
I know I've read it a million times by now, but where do you get the carbon fiber sheets with the kick-up? And is it 25 or 30 degrees?

Re: TRX1 Build
Ok guys first machined part for this car is done. The front tower was too long for what I needed so I machined a new one from CF to fit my AE 12mm big bores which will go on the car. I hope to get the chassis done soon.

Re: TRX1 Build
Got the chassis milled today but still have to counter sink the holes and drill the holes for the front bulkhead. The upper deck is next after I assemble the car and double check measurements.
The second chassis you see in the pic is the first one I attempted. I placed my material too far to the one side of the y axis and did not get the full width. That is what I get for trying to save as much material as possible. I ended up modifying the program and made the chassis narrower so I did not waste the material. I will not be using the narrow chassis.
More updates to come.

Re: TRX1 Build
The car is just about complete. Once I get the measurements, I will place an order for a set of Lunsford turnbuckles. I will be installing the electronics in the car and working on getting the body painted later this week.

Re: TRX1 Build
I am not sure the A&L stuff will stay. I threw it in there for the time being but I may go back to the OEM steering rack on this one.
If the A&L stuff is used, it will no longer be yellow. Kinda sticks out and doesn't fit the build. Should be a pretty decent car to run on the track. Got my Tekin RS and an 8.5 lined up for the car. Should be plenty fast enough...
