Re: VAE's 91 stealth replica & runner V2
I think my best chance for getting the correct wheels is to do the Niki replicas.
I'm guessing I need these ones?
ZC-835 2.2"

Re: VAE's 91 stealth replica & runner V2
You're right for the fronts, but I would use these for the rear: http://www.shapeways.com/product/324JENN76/zc-825-2-125-quot-1pcs?li=shop-results&optionId=40560922 as they're a replica of the ROAR regulation wheels. The 2.2 came after.

X2, hard to see in the picture if Brian drilled the rear wheels like most AE drivers did.Asso_man! wrote:You're right for the fronts, but I would use these for the rear: http://www.shapeways.com/product/324JENN76/zc-825-2-125-quot-1pcs?li=shop-results&optionId=40560922 as they're a replica of the ROAR regulation wheels. I only see 2 screws, but it make sense that it's not the 2.2 since they didn't come along until later.

I think Rod is talking about the row of large hole down the middle of the wheel (like Masami's car), not the mounting holes.vintage AE wrote:I only see 2 screws, but it make sense that it's not the 2.2 since they didn't come along until later.
The ones in David's link would be the ones you want.

Those will be the ones I get then. I just need to wait to get some money coming in. I never hurts to do the leg work first then spend all of the money at once

Re: VAE's 91 stealth replica & runner V2
I got the red trans dyed red. As I mentioned on facebook, it turned out a bit darker than anticipated due to a trace amount of black dye left from the previous dye job I did. I have another case to dye, but not the spacers so I think I will leave this for now. If I do it again, it will be with a fresh pot...the second case is much brighter to begin with too. Once I get the body painted nobody will be looking as closely at the trans, so I'm not going to stress over it.

Re: VAE's 91 stealth replica & runner V2
Red is close enough plus the original pic is not the best. Just a touch lighter than the SCR batteries I think.

Re: VAE's 91 stealth replica & runner V2
Here's your options for the 4-40 mini lock nuts, going from left to right.
- AE 4449, these are really orange
- AE 4449, these are from my B44.3 donor car. I find it odd that they are more yellowish than the orange if you were to buy them new. If you like these throw up a wanted post on Facebook
- Losi LOSA6306, see are the closest to the vintage AE mini 4-40
- RJ Speed, these are silver, can be found on EBay, search mini 4-40
I current need the Losi and B44.3 nuts for builds, otherwise I'd offer them up. Just wanted to let you know your options.

You could use AE 4449 nuts. Just put them in a Mr muscle oven cleaner bath for a minute or so.

FYI, Fastener-Express dot com has them in many colors. I have used Red and Purple on my builds, soon to order some more, just need to decide on what color is next

Re: VAE's 91 stealth replica & runner V2
Thanks for helping me out with my small nuts guys, it feels better to know there's hope for me
This is next... I should trim and sand the edges a bit better, but I'm "working" in the field and don't have that crap with me. I only planned on drawing this up, but I have at least 4 more days away. I might as well get her masked up and see how far I can go with her.

Made me some Kinwald blue today. Now, do I cut in that red no copies circle and paint it, or find a sticker. I think I'll find a sticker to be closer to the original.
