How rare is the RC10 Graphite 6030 kit?
How rare is the RC10 Graphite 6030 kit?
Hello all - having now become well and truly addicted to RC10 buggies (!!!), I have purchased another to add to my original and CE versions. It's the RC10 Graphite buggy kit 6030. It was NIB except that the transmission had been put together (not used though), so I'm going to take the transmission apart and start from scratch....
Anyway, I wasn't sure how rare these buggies are NIB and would be grateful if anyone could give me an idea. Are they more rare than the originals or the CE/Worlds, etc? Would appreciate your thoughts....pictures of my purchase below:

Re: How rare is the RC10 Graphite 6030 kit?
From what I understand they didn't make many, and the stealth came out almost right after the car was released, so after that why buy the six gear car
I'm sure there are more people here with em'

yeah, looking at this website: http://www.theshreves.com/rc_stuff/rc10history.htm , it seems that it was only around for a year before Associated reverted to the gold pan with the CE and Team cars...not totally clear why they did that though, unless there was a sudden demand (and subsequent development) for a better tranny + a demand for reversion back to aluminium tub...

The period is correct for that site, but there are more than a few facts that aren't correct--
But any way when are you gonna start building?

i know hoopty has one. i'm almost positive aeiou has one.
in my opinion, a 6036 graphite stealth kit is harder to find nib than a 6030 kit.

A couple years ago I purchased a graphite car and it arrived with the factory stealth, so now I have both the 6-gear and stealth versions.

Well the plan is to start as soon as I've finished my Blackfoot build....hopefully in the not-too-distant future. Will of course post pics of the build.
I've got a mint condition stealth tranny that I could fit but I'm inclined to keep this one totally original and in show condition. Presumably, as it seems that the stealth tranny became very popular, there were more of those about than the 6 gear tranny version?

I haven't seen a nib graphite in along time and would like to have one. Her are a few pics of my cars the six gear is painted box art by racer 8838. The stealth car I painted myself. Post some pics of your car when you finish it.

You are right the 6036 Graphite Team Car that came with the Stealth and wider mid/rear section chassis is much harder to find!scr8p wrote:i know hoopty has one. i'm almost positive aeiou has one.

I too have a mint new built 6030 but sure wish I could get a Graphite Team Car!
I would love to know the sales numbers for the original Gold Pan RC10. It seems there are so many out there. I feel that all the 2.25 buggy's, both Team Cars combined with the Worlds Car are much harder to find. The "true" B2 is getting rare as well! I'm working on a runner B2 as we speak and original parts are getting hard to find.

Re: How rare is the RC10 Graphite 6030 kit?
i was talking about the 6036 kits in general. you almost never see those. but yes your right. the chance of buying a nib graphite team car, and when you open it there's a "stealth" chassis in there, that damn near impossible. and there's no way of knowing whats in there until you open it.slotcarrod wrote:You are right the 6036 Graphite Team Car that came with the Stealth and wider mid/rear section chassis is much harder to find!
