Greenish blue nylon parts on a black tub RC10?
I just bought a black tub RC10 buggy from tbfoto in the BST section. It has some greenish blue nylon parts. What's the story with these? When I got out of the hobby in the 90's, they still had white parts. How long were they in kits?

bad dye job probably, good news is you can make them black by using rit dye in hot water for a few min

I thought maybe that was the case. I couldn't find any mention of any other stock nylon colors besides white and black. Thanks.

Those parts were probably dyed black at one time. Time and exposure take their toll. i recently picked up a 10T from Matt (matthew john) that had all the white parts dyed pale purple, at least i thought so until i took the wheels apart. The insides of the wheels look like they were dyed yesterday. Very dark purple. It almost matches my Plum Crazy Plymouth!

Your buggy is already boxed up and shipped out. If I had seen this thread before I shipped it I would have taken a few close up photos for you. I got the buggy with the parts that way. If they are dyed....it was done pretty well. Even the tranny is this color. I thought it was neat...different....cool! Maybe they are dyed like the others say but either way...its different. You can be the judge in a few days.
Thanks....enjoy

That's ok. I wasn't concerned with it. Just curious. I'm still debating on wether I'm goint to replace with white parts or keep the black and dye the greenish parts. I don't know. It'll give me something to tinker with. Probably not gonna dump a whole lot of money into it.
