RPM Jrx2 new build
Well I got the bug again and have been working on some new projects. thanks to Red Scampi I stole his idea on the decal for the well used chassis. I made a trip to the local Auto Zone, got a 6 ft roll of carbon decal for 5 bucks. it really makes the chassis look good. I went around the edges with some clear fingernail polish to secure the edges, it worked well. and I was out of shock parts for the 5 link so I went for the full on RPM treatment. I scored RPM sterring arms not here yet. and Huge score of a NIP set of orange Front and Rear wheels I cant wait till they are here.

Re: Some new builds
I am working on a new Junior 2 also it is all new parts, and as with all of my cars getting the RPM arms. slipper, XX wheels and RPM Truck arms to squair it up.
Re: Some new builds
Very nice! That JRX2 is going to be killer! I like your idea about the clear nail polish too. The last car I had a little bit of lifting of the edges so I'm going to borrow that idea from you! It really is a great way to reuse a beat up chassis. I have one more to build but I'm going to try something a bit different with it.

By the way, I found out that the best way to cut out the holes is with a very sharp exacto knife.

Yeah, you should fill the scratches in with JB Weld or similar then sand it flat first. Any ding you leave will show through the decal.

Re: Some new builds
Thats how I did it to. I did it then tore it all off and did it again I wish I would have filled the holes but I wasnt sure how it was going to come out. I didnt want to waste a lot of time on it. I might redo it later. here is what I started with.RedScampi wrote:By the way, I found out that the best way to cut out the holes is with a very sharp exacto knife.

Re: Some new builds
Thats the plan I want Brushless in all of my cars. I am going to put a Pro se top shaft in the trans so I will have a slipper, and I will use some modern 2.2 wheels as I plan on racing it. I really want to go to the Vintage Nats next year. I need a body to I PM'd Mr Lexan but he hasnt got back to me yet? check with him he has the best ones from what I hear he also has decals.Gater60 wrote:Good start on your JRX2.
