When choosing a brushless system what does the KV mean. Like the traxxis 3300kv or the losi 4800kv . The larger the number the faster?

it is the voltage constant expressed as RPM/volt. if a motor is 3000kv and you give it 10v it should hit 30,000rpm

Can you run more conventional batteries with a brushless setup, or do I need to run lipo? Was going to go with a traxxas velion brushless setup and having to buy that and a good lipo at the same time is a bit much.

Yep you def can run older batteries with them. I remember when the Mamba mini systems first came out they would shutter when you started if you used crumby batteries. It had to do with the amp draw and that the bad cells couldn't feed it but other...

I'm new to the hobby and Have a Nice factory team rc10t3 what would i need to buy to convert it to brushless. I'm on a budget also. I'm going to be doing some racing with it and alot of back yard racing on my track.

You don't need to do anything special to run a brushless system in your T3, I would recommend cleaning and rebuilding your tranny.

I would recommend starting with something like a 17.5 or 13.5 sensored motor and a really good ESC woulld be a Novak...

I run an old Futaba Pistol radio, and I've NEVER had any problems of any sort while running my EZRun brushless combos, and none of my racing mates have had any issues either. Go for it mate, you shouldnt have any hassles...
