Ultima parts interchange
Ultima parts interchange
Hey guys, first off sorry I'm sure this has been posted before, but I can't seem to find it.
I have an original chassis for the ultima (metal one) and I have a complete roller for a newer ultima (it's the on-road car). I want to get the old one running and I'm wondering what parts interchange from the newer style to the older style?
Thanks for any help guys.

Re: Ultima parts interchange
the good news is with the classic ultima, all the parts are pretty readily available in the form of reproduction, left over/carryover parts from kyosho, remakes from tower, and custom mods people do. the one main part that just isnt available is the chassis which teambluegroove makes obviously, but not the same as original obviously.
The only 2 parts that arent available new anywhere in any form are the bulkhead, motor plate and gear cover from memory.

Luckily the outrage uses the same parts as the ultima 2 or turbo ultima can't remember. The gear cover is the same and I have a few extras of those.

Re: Ultima parts interchange
yeah I have used outrages before too , I thought the tranny is the same as the first gen ultima? I remember stealing a bunch of parts from them for my ultimas, a-arms , gear cover, gears ect... nice cheap alternative to buying single pieces from ebay
Kyosho Ultima's & Turbo Optima's, Team Ass. RC10's, Jammin CRT , RC10TC3, Tamiya F-150, OFNA 9.5
Re: Ultima parts interchange
Jettech-that's exactly what I was referring to. My daughter was driving my old outrage til I got her a stampede. The outrage is in really good condition so I will be courcing some parts off of it. Although after reading the build up that ACE028 did. I am going to use some of the same parts just for the ease of replacement parts.
Mikedealer- WOW- that's an awesome build you did. I really love the body. Thank you very much for listing the parts you used. I will be using some of them in my build up as well. I'm just planning on running this in some local vintage club races. I really like the look of the original ultimas and figured this would be funner to run the rc10.

Re: Ultima parts interchange
I have a new Ultima build planned too. A chassis should be arriving soon as my foundation. I have a stash of goodies along with some Outrage/Ultima parts to finish the build.
Re: Ultima parts interchange
Very cool. I just got a roller minus wheels/tires/body/cage/wing/trans/shocks/and top plate for $10. Good deal I thought. Wait that means it's only the chassis and the suspension. Oh well it came with a second kyosho chassis that I will probably sell later on.
Everything is in really good shape though, so that will be nice to start the build the with.
