I bought this on ebay for what I thought was a very fair price. Anyway when I asked him if he had the original tires and wheels he said. "Its been so long I thought those were the original tires and wheels" did I stumble upon a great find? They look like proline rims, and tires the fronts are the same on either side, so there is no wrong way to put them on. The rears are almost flush on the back with a tiny lip for the tire bead. The tire wear is consistent with the motor and speed control resister wear. And there are no logos on any of the sidewalls. I have no doubt that these tires were put on the car new. The guy that had the car had an impeccable attention to detail when he built this. So it just makes me wonder if towards the end of moving from the Edinger location to the new store if they threw in some funky parts to complete kits. Or maybe the hobby shop swapped out a set for another customer and substituted the tires and rims. Edinger address on the box and on the motor label.
I remember the factory tires or any other tires for that matter wearing out quickly if driven on cement. He probably bought these as replacements and lost track of the originals.
No those didn't come with the RC10.
Associated didn't make or package those with any car kits. I used to use those back then, they are aftermarket Proline rims and tires. Probably bought them from the local Hobby Shop after he wore out his original ones.
I bet the originals never touched the car. If you saw how clean this thing is. There is no way he ran it more than 2 or 3 times in the street. I might send him an email and and offer him a nice finders fee to look for the other set.
If you never hit curbs or bottom it out it will stay looking nice. I have an Optima Mid that I ran on cement and carpet. I bet I went through 12 sets of tires and then put it away. It still looks darn near new. It is worth a try though to see if he still has them even if they are shot. The wheels should still be good and then all you would need are the tires.
I'm wondering if the hex on the Optima are the same that are on the standard SCT wheel/tire setups of today? Does anyone had both that they could snap a photo of while on their car if they do fit? I'm wondering how it would look with that setup and...

Interesting. What body were you trying to fit with it? Any chance you could shoot any pics of it with that setup?
After being dormant since the late eighties I've decided to blow life into my old A stamp. I've been thinking of doing this for years, and now I'm posting the build here in the hope it will motivate me to actually get it finished. The goal is to get...

Trying out bell cranks with the cut nuts as shown above, to solve the problem of the stripped threads in the nose plate. Took away some material from the bell cranks to lower the ball ends for the steering rods. Also compensated with 0,75 mm washers...
Hey, finished my mid/late Edinger posted in my gallery but thought I'd show more pics here in case anyone had any questions or wanted to comment. Thanks for looking. BTW the only thing that is not original with this build, or any of my builds, are...

Very nice build....I like my peroxide blondes sporting Double D's 8)
Am lucky to have scored myself, what looks to be, a late Edinger unbuilt kit.
Pics here:
Am planning on building it but was thinking about putting all of the plastics in a peroxide bath foe a few days of uv light.
Two questions: Do you think...

I do the box art reproductions because that is how I remember the vehicle the first time I saw them. I always saw the cars in ads the first time so the box art is really stuck in my memory from lusting after them for so long. While I'd never use a...
I have a 1986 rc10. All original parts. i can't get the speed control or servo(tried with working receiver) to work and would like to replace the parts. I have the original edinger motor plus 3 more NIB trinity motors. Any suggestions or ideas as...

The old servos will work fine, and the traxxas transmitter is, well, honestly, crap. But, on something that is only driven on an occasional basis it's fine.
I was incorrectly just assuming the car had a Stealth tranny, not sure why, but ca-rj is...
Hey guys, I finally finished this car! I wanted to give it my custom flavor, but keep it as correct as possible, and come up with a '80's era paint scheme, I think I pulled it off nicely...
replaced all the black hardware and the turnbuckle...

Glad it arrived safely!
I can do another body exactly (or better) like that one if you are interested, just let me know.
I can also do just about any other paint scheme you may be interested in.
P.S. keep a lookout for my next Edinger in a few...
Just to get a feel, and to know how many to make.
How many people here would buy a full reproduction set of the GOODYEAR tires for $100.00 ?
This 'set' consists of two 7-groove front tires with GOODYEAR on the sides and two rear tires with GOODYEAR...

Honestly I think to sell it for 500.00 (note it has not sold for 600.00 for some time, as I had been watching it.), the potential owner would want to have the original tires on it as well. I truly think if you bought that car, removed the tires,...
