Dye aluminium??

I remember reading from an earlier posting here that someone colored the aluminium side plates on a Mugen bulldog using dye alone (without anodising).

Anyone here know the exact formula to get that done right??

if you could get the liquid dye to stick would be the ticket. I don't think it would be that durable. I have read about home annodizig that uses 5 gallon buckets and a car battery for the power source.

alright, so i have my 10t torn all apart for clean up and I'm trying to decide what to do with the chassis. its pretty chewed up on the bottom. I'm trying to decide between: strip it and leave it bare aluminum, strip it and repaint black, or strip...

doesnt really leave a nasty finish, it looks like crap afterwards, but its easily polished out with aluminum polish and a rag. make sure to leave it in long enough to remove the anodizing as well as the color. i have left aluminum peices in anywhere...

Was wondering if anybody knew if these would fit the top loading gold shocks. If I knew the diameter that would be great. Normally I would just buy them and see but they are a little pricey so wanted to check here first.

I saw this on Ebay today, unfortunately the seller only ships to the US :cry:

Do you think it's a custom job or did any company made them back then (eg: GPM):?: I have never seen one like that before...

Well hmm. I'm trying to think of a hint that won't give it away. Think RC10, lots of awesome parts, some custom made just for this project and think baja/sand dune vehicle. That's all I can say for now, because it's really still in it's infancy....
