I am ready to jump to lipo since I need a new battery or two anyway.
not going brushless yet
hobbyking has great prices on stuff but I just don't completely understand all this stuff with lipo batteries except the balancing, the "C" number and the cells. But I guess it seems that some chargies and batteries won't be compatible for balancing and such?
can anyone recommend an budget setup with charger/balancer, LVC and a battery or two?
also, where / how the heck do you hook up the LVC?
EDIT: after shopping and realizing not only cost, but I have read that if you don't know how to handle a Lipo battery then don't use them that maybe I ought to reconsider and stay NIMH... thoughts?
I would really appreciate some help here
recommended lipo setup?

Re: recommended lipo setup?
mmm I can take a stab at it--
I 'went Lipo' recently-
they are great-- lighter & more powerful (in general) than nickel batteries.
Yes-- they require a Lipo charger-- I love my hyperion EOS0606i-- does Lipo/Life/Nimh/Nicd/Lead Acid batteries
http://www.maxamps.com/EOS0606i-AC-DC.htm
I have a set of Thunder Power ROAR approved 2 cell Lipos-- they are 4200 mah/40C -- they rip! They definitely have more power/punch then a 3200mah 30C battery I have.
I hope that helps!

Re: recommended lipo setup?
wow... well I ordered my first one and went with a 20C since it seemed like that was what most batteries were for the trucks/cars/buggies
I only ordered one to start, I usually don't have time to burn through two batteries in a session
