February 15, 2010: Just learned that DMVhas revoked the registations for these bumper cars.
"It was a mistake by the field office staff, said Jan Mendoza, a DMV spokeswoman."
"Our registration division was sent these same photos some years back, and have since corrected their registration," she said. These cars no longer have California plates, she said."

The info I found on the Flicker page says that the licenses were a DMV mistake and were revoked. That sucks, because I'd rather see these things cruising around than a lot of the motorized scooters and other POS you see out there.soniccj5 wrote:Could you actually register and insure these for public roads?
Maybe for the winter you could throw the body on a snowmobile instead of a quad
Ok answered my own question by looking at the pictures.
Edit: reason Doh!
Yes, but it's not one of the bumper cars, which has me wondering what it is, quarter scale? Go cart??Charlie don't surf wrote:Isn't that coupe a Willys?

I doubt it because when the camera pans around to the yellow bumper car with flames, the orange car isn't that far away. I'm thinking it's either a 1/4 scale or a go cart type of thing.badhoopty wrote:pretty sure its full size.Lowgear wrote:It might be full size and just a matter of perception.
