pinion gear for vintage RC10

Post by turk10 »

I Have a 1990 vintage RC10,totally stock. I'm going to blow the dust of it and insall a 2.4 ghz radio and a brushless power system.(3300kv)

can anyone suggest what pinion gear to to use with the stock spur gear? I want to keep it conservative as I will not be racing or hard bashing, but just for fun.

32 Pitch 56t spur, to a 15t pinion might be in the neighborhood for ya

With a 3300kv I’d go about 10/56 or maybe even lower. It would pull a 15 tooth no problem, but it would be way too fast.

Thanks for the info guys, I guess I'm whimp too because I would probably opt for the 10/56. I really don't want to beat this old buggy.

After giving it more thought, I should save the stock spur. If I were to go with a 78t 48p diff spur and a 23t or so pinion, would I have enough room to mount it :?:

Thread ressurection. Stripped the stock spur on one of my gold pans. Will this spur work (and if not, which one)?
