you got those for your vintage cars, right? aren't they quite a bit larger than a standard sub-c nicad cell?

They’re 1.2v each so I’m guessing they’re perfect sub c size. 2800mah, but man they’ll look nice! I might be missing something, but I believe they’re perfect. Nice find! Great deal too.
And a nice Beer For My Horses reference.

i was just pointing out that those cells are 25-26mm in width and 50mm in height. my 2400 nicad cells (for example) are 22mm in width and 42mm in height. an associated battery box (for example) is only around 46-47mm wide. any way you'd build a pack, whether side by side or stick pack, they won't fit.

Im glad I didn't see the auction because I would have probably faught you for them. I hope they are sub-c size! That would really suck to get them all and not be able to use them. What are your plans for them? Sell some off perhaps? Id be interested in a few packs worth if they are sub c.

How did the cells turnout Brandon? Are they usable for our purposes? Will you have to charge those at a super low current rate since they are the old SCEs?

They are unfortunately a slight bit larger than the sub c's. I would imagine they would work fro projects like a puller Clod where the size doesn't matter. I don't think they are old cells. There are a few places still selling them as new, so... If anybody is interested in picking a few up I could post in the BST area......
