Edinger Kit Manual / Replica of Backpage RC10
i've been wanting to throw this car together for awhile now. this is the rc10 that's on the back page of the edinger kit manual.
i had one gold tub and one nose plate left that weren't bent or heavily beat up. so i decided to use it as the platform for it. i do plan on using this car, so i don't want to make it too nice, or i won't want too. i also soaked all (and i mean ALL) of the used white parts that i had laying around in peroxide, and picked out the nicest stuff. i'm still missing a couple pieces, but i'll find them eventually. it isn't anything that'll be hard to get.
so here it is so far......... nothing special.
i picked up a set of aluminum spring collars from mikedealer a couple months ago for this car, and the anodizing is very close to the ano on the chassis. i spent some time today stripping the shock bodies and caps and getting them ready to put back together. i still have to do the fronts. i also have to dye a pair of shock rod ends red for the ones on the rear.

and i made it even easier on myself because i dyed 2 more shock rod ends red than i actually needed for my masami replica by accident. so now i don't have to dye any.Y'ernat Al wrote:That's the easy way out.scr8p wrote:...i also have to dye a pair of shock rod ends red for the ones on the rear...

to be honest, i don't know if they're the chrome rims or an aluminum outer like the rps ones. probably the chrome rims....... they look to be pretty shiney in the pic.
ya, a couple years sounds about right.m_vice wrote:This is going to be a cool one Jay. do you plan on finishing it in a couple of years?

So does that mean you want the chrome ones, or my NIP RPS ones
One you can "have", one you can't

when you are ready to paint, i can probably make some sort of checkerboard mask like you asked before, i worked this up in photoshop in about 5 seconds this morning... it wasnt hard.. doug may be able to make something a little better in illustrator... he is better at vector art than i am.

that might work. i just have a feeling that i'll be too lazy to sit there and cut them all out freehand.

I think most of those decals are from an early Associated on road sheet. I might even still have it here in the box o' decal fun.scr8p wrote:ya, the decals have me a bit stumped.... except for the numbers.
I wouldn't waste time on a mask for those checks, either.

ya, freehand will be the way to go to be able to get the "look" right. it's just more of a laziness thing with me.
but once i get started laying the tape out, it won't be that bad.
