Slop in 10t steering

Post by Caine »

Is it just me or is there a lot of slop in the 10t steering? Have just got my runner up together for the start of the vintage class at my local club and it seems no end of shims spacers etc will sort it out!
Any recommendations, or is there another servo saver assembly available that will suit?

I think you can still get a new GT servo saver. If I am correct I think AE still makes them and it will bolt right on.

The steering arms from the B2/B3/T3 also fit, but the servo needs to be turned 90 degrees to work.

You can only remove so much play from the steering; even with the bearings and hinge pins perfectly tight, there are still 8 ball and rod end connections. A seemingly imperceptible amount of play in each becomes a lot when you multiply it by 8, and that seems exaggerated when you put a truck tire on there. A little bit really isn't a problem.
