Please help identify vintage Losi Revolution...

Post by Tony Toudor »

Browsing through some awesome scans I was hoping you guys might have a catolog from the late 80's that would shed some light on this Losi Revolution motor I have. Not sure what turn it is or if its a double or triple...

Hard to size a ESC when I can't identify it :?

Yup, it's a Losi Revolution.

Truth is, most of the Revolutions looked identical back then. Not many ways to ID them without taking them apart.

Take the endbell off, and check its stacks. It's normally hand written on there if it is a 8X1 / 15X4 etc.... There are no outside visual clues to a Revolution mod motor.

I believe that to be a 6056 Insane 15 double.

The problem is, Al, that ALL of the Losi Revolution mod motors looked exactly like that with very few exceptions. It wasn't until later on in their production that motors like the Motown Missile and Jr's Choice actually got different decals.

Also, why is this thread in the SCANS ARCHIVE? :|

Was there something on this one that made you know this is a 6056, or just the label can etc?

and oh yeah, it is in the scans archive

I know it's horrible and it's not officially even winter yet.

Reg - the color of the label on the can was my surefire dead giveaway so no real knowledge here.

Yup, like Twisters, CAMs or early Trinity motors, they all looked the same.

Nope - all the early yellow labelled Losi donks had no id on the outside - impossible to tell what it is without pulling it apart and counting the winds - or some did have a wind written on the stack.

Oh - and scr8p (Jason) - I have alittle something here for you mate  (it has grown a beard now its been so long!!  ) I might send it after Christmas though - dont want it to get lost in the christmas "noise" - LMK if you want me to send anyway.

Cheers
