Got Me a Moose Head!

Post by LTO_Dave »

I finally got a 10T S&K AIRS body after years of searching. It's not perfect and is missing the AIRS duct, but at least I found one. :D

After a little trimming, sanding and a bath, here are the results:

I really like those bullwinkle bodies myself. Would an airs duct like out of a stock car be close enuf to make it look respectable?

Just thinkin out loud silently thru my keyboard there

I'm glad we didn't get into a bidding war over it.

I didn't plan on spending too much on the lot since I couldn't tell the condition of the S&K. But getting five bodies, including an AYK Pro Radiant, for $12 wasn't a bad deal. :D

I have a NIP one from Ford, that originally came from Scot and then to me- but I want one for my VONATS truck really really bad, but not bad enough to open the NIP one  Jay will repop them someday so I can wait, and I would have ran it, so it's better in your hands

Okay, found some pics of my racer from the way back. It's a 7001 kit, and in this pic it's still in pretty stock form I think underneath the shell. eventually the truck wound up well but tastefully modded as a racer, CVD's, futaba s9301 servo, lundsfords, C/C steering, carbon stealth brace, etc. I still have this truck but over the years almost all the parts have changed on it. I think the shocks trans brace, C/C bellcranks, and the turnbuckles are all that's left from it's days as a stock class terror. The Body I sent to Reg a while back was going to get painted the same as this one, but I could just never bring myself to take it out of the bag as the truck has always been a runner.

Those Losi wheels were my favorite, I loved the lexan dish! even though I don't think I ever painted a set, always ran them clear.

sorry for the picture of a picture, I'm without a scanner at the moment

losi X patterns I think the fronts in that pic are the associated or proline stagger ribs? we used to cut the inner row of ribs out of them, (I think thats what I saw the pros doing at the time so I followed suit) As far as bringing it to it's former glory, it still sees track glory, now it sports M2 edge's and bow ties, and a lot less white parts! LOL it's kind of in pieces now, I'll post pics soon when it's back together (did a chassis swap on it, the old one which was really like the third one, was a little tweaked)

I wasn't looking to buy it I just wanted to know what the condition was and if it was uncut so Jay could make a repo or is this the one you sold a week or so ago that you had listed as unknown body?

I had never even heard of this body outside of this post. Seeing it with paint makes it really stand out. Way ahead of it's time when you look at what Losi is doing right now(which I personally find very appealing).
