Ok, thinking of building my own chassis with the plenty of stock I got when I picked up my KRP lot. I was told Kendrick silver soldered his chassis and my friend brazed his. Looking at torches at the hardware store left me scratching my head. There's some pretty pricey ones. Has anyone here built their own cages or chassis out of tubing that could shed some advice?

Thank you lowgear, that's exactly the type of info I was searching for. Now I was told Mr. Lane used acetalin (sp?) and I see this kit uses mapp and o2. I'm gonna check into this!

Recently getting back into RC it's time to search for a decent soldering station specifically for my RC stuff. I have some but minimal experience and knowledge with soldering. What watt iron is ideal for r/c, solder type, etc? What do you use or...

I've been using a very good Hakko soldering iron (pencil type) for a while now, and it works very well for light use. Never had quite the nuts to do battery packs though.

I can't understand how much these cages are worth.

One just sold on e bay for $237 A.U.

Why is this. I know the other colours sell for even more.

Im a lucky one as i have a Turbo Javelin.( Turbo Optima with a Javillin cage on it)

Don't rule out that because there aren't Javelin fakes/reproductions out there diluting the Javelin numbers, they hold their value much better.
