CAT box art question

Post by top cat mike »

I have seen two variations of CAT box art and am looking for a little clarification. The black with red and yellow striping is the original I am guessing. What is the white box art car? Any help from the schumacher experts would be fantastic.

- black with red and yellow striping = long wheel base chassis (later model), aka CAT XL(S)
- white box art car = short wheel base chassis (very first model), aka CAT SWB

Both boxes can be seen here, with from right to left: SWB, XL (black wheels, stick pack), XLS (chromed wheels, saddle pack) and Pro Cat

by the way these cats are not mine, I borrowed the pic from a French collector 'Hairy Ogre' that might even be a member here too.

Oh and whenever you don't feel OK anymore, have a look at this one or show it to the wife as exhibit A, but don't show it the doctor when eventually you go there to treat any sort of addiction

Great not I have to sit here all day at work and try to pick out all the exotic parts I see in this pic. Hey that could be a good game in off topic. Identify all "Tekin" or "MIP" or "Works" or pick a topic in this picture.

There are two variations of the SWB box art. If you look at the box very carefully you will see that the picture on the top is not the same as the picture on the side. Colours are the same but the patterns are different. The main difference being that the stripes go all the way through the centre of the shell on the top picture, but down the side of the shell on the pictures on the side of the box.

Others here are correct re the black/red/yellow scheme, as that is for the XL/XLS.
