Just wanted to get some ideas on what to do with a CE I'm building, and how I can salvage making the mistake of buying the "truck" chassis, for a buggy build. Thought it would work, but thats what I get for swithcing sides from ye old Losi
After buying this and building it up, its looking too long for a stock Protech body. Has anyone built a buggy with this "truck" chassis? Also, theres alot of inner rub where the rear arm pivots are, against the chassis. I'm assuming thats because it was meant to have trailing arms.
I was thinking to go with 2.2 buggy wheels to bring it closer in perspective, but I kinda like the CE wheels, now that I dyed them fuschia I'd rather not drill out the chassis, but it seems I might have to to make this work right, or at least to get the arms free and clear. Any thoughts would help... Thanks.
The Andy's chassis were designed to take either the Andy's trailing arm setup or rear A-arms. I've build a couple of Andy's buggies and trucks, but I used Andy's or RPM A-arms. With the exception of the earlier RC10 buggy rear arms that use the longer inner hinge pins, it should work with pretty much any of the others.
i think those andy's chassis's came out before they released the RC10T, thats why the front bulkhead looks like a buggy noseplate, its meant for a "rc10 conversion" with truck tires... as far as fitment i dont know, maybe its longer?
It's about 3/4" longer than the buggy chassis. Essentially, it's about the same length as the RC10 tub chassis with the nose plate in the extended position.
thanks guys, i think im gonna leave it a buggy, and just modify the chassis. i dont wanna change any original parts (besides the chassis) or cut them either. i made a hole template, to move the trans and arms forward, but I need to know the stock wheelbase length from axle to axle before make any changes. i'll trim whatever else is rubbing back there too, once I know the exact length i need. i want to make sure a Protech or Viper body fits properly too. i'll shoot some pics once i get it going. thanks
I say leave it long wheel base. My 22 feels like a limo but handles great. That chassis should put you right there for length. JConcepts has a lwb body out for the B4.1 that may cover the chassis well enough too.

Well, I started throwing some parts on it way back when, then just kind of forgot about it, until now. I have all of the parts to build it. I suppose I should go ahead and finish it up.

I don't think even I could forget about that! Is there a trailing arm option for a truck? I don't believe I've seen a truck with trailing arms. I know the intention there is not to do that, but just wondering if there are any. That would be pretty cool.

heres where I'm at, not sure if I'm keeping it yet. wheels are dyed magenta / fuschia but my camera makes them look red. everythings rebuilt, low and tight for street use. might do a tribute body to Masami, my own design but the same green / white / black with multi colored striping.
x2 and I like the pink too. From my side of the screen they don't look red anyway. I spent alot of time in the 80's so I've seen it before and still like the looks of it .

Peace and professionlism.....Kabunga signing off!!!
I picked this really nice Andy's roller up from RedScampi (what must be a couple of years ago) and I scratched my head over it for a little while. I decieded last year to throw an unboxed, incomplete but mint Proline truck conversion on it.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I have this Andy's truck conversion.
I considered swapping it onto this Andy's chassis and may still do so if I can get the front mounts to line up, I won't be drilling any extra holes that's for sure.
Just bought a RC10. This had been converted to a truck back in the days by the seller, then changed back to a regular RC10 again. Seller told me the parts had been an Andy's truck conversion kit. I know Andy's 1/12 and 1/10 scale bodies but have no...
Slotcarod had given me a few truck conversion kits to clean up his mess of a man cave hobby area.
I put together a Proline conversion kit on a RC10 I currently had a while back...here's a quick preview

Picked this up a month or so back. Didn't pay enough attention to the details at the moment of purchase. I got excited and all I saw was Andy's chassis and See's aluminum wheels and I couldn't get the cash out of my pocket fast enough. Later I...

That looks killer. Kind of like a Blackfoot, but on steroids.
Painted this one yesterday. Its an Andy's body that's produced and sold by Sabula Tech. I have been buying bodies from Sabula Tech for a couple years now and the quality has always been very good. I've always loved the classic Toyota Race Team...

Was there an entire conversion kit by Andy's to turn RC10s into monster trucks? I just received a sealed bag of Andy's parts (arms, bumpers, body posts, wheel adapters etc) but has no tag or markings. Ill post a pic of it later when I have a chance....
