Reliving the childhood memories
Reliving the childhood memories
Hi Everyone,
I stumbled across RC10talk and found it to be full of great information compared to some of the other sites. My search started as I got this bug of wanting a RC10 from my childhood. The infamous gold tub. I remember great times with that car. At the time there were not weekly races, more like monthly races. This was when the tracks were outside. My parents would drive me to the track almost daily to practice for that big monthly race as I was only 14yrs old at the time. I remember having to water the track myself and rake it. Then run one or two batteries, go home and wait for the next day. I did this all summer long. Great times. Now I have been watching ebay for both a runner car and a display car. I have a car on the way that I think will become my runner. I feel like a kid again, just waiting for the car to arrive.
My first real R/C was a Tamiya Hotshot that was a driveway racer. Then came the RC10 and many more. I am planning on getting the re-released Hotshot along with a couple of Yokomo's I used to have. RPS SE and Super Dog Fighter. So the hunt begins with a smile on my face. Only if I was able to see the future would I have hung on to all my toys.
As soon as the RC10 arrives, I will share the pics with everyone as I might need so guidance.
Glad to be here.
David

Re: Reliving the childhood memories
Hi Everyone,
It has arrived. Yep that's right, my childhood RC10, well one that resembles it anyway. In decent condition so it looks. It needs a through gone through as it's been sitting a while with no attention.
Also in the box was a old Andy's RC Monster Truck conversion kit. This will be going up on the bay, unless there is a member that would be interested first. I am looking for Yokomo 834b parts that I would be willing to trade this kit for.
Anyway, here are some pics.
Enjoy.

Looks like you found your display car - very clean
Will be a lot easier to find a runner.

Wow that's a clean shelf car for sure. You got a good deal, with original shell, driver and decal set. Awesome!
