Another old guy reliving his youth
Another old guy reliving his youth
Hello Everyone,
I am a 41 year old living in Raleigh, North Carolina, who has just gotten the RC bug again. My first hobby grade RC car was a Tamiya Hotshot in 1986. In 1987 I got an RC10 from Tower Hobbies in NYC. Which I still have in the original box. RC cars were a huge part of my early teens.
This forum is really awesome! I've spent so much time pouring over all the info here, that is time to introduce my self and say thank you.
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get my butt over to the storage unit, dig my car out and post some pictures.
Matt

Welcome! At 34 I just bought an RC10 B4 and intend on reliving my youth! (except racing with a budget that means one day i might stand a chance of winning).Matt_NC wrote:Hello Everyone,

You're 41 and call yourself old? I just hit 44...does that mean I need to grow up and quit playing with toy cars? I hope not...

Y'all are going to be playing with your rc cars in the old folks home soon! I'm only 38
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Matt, not to worry. I hope to retain my young spirit and wonder of all things RC as long as I can fly and drive them. Would love to see what you've got.

Re: Another old guy reliving his youth
Welcome. Take it easy with throwing the word old around though, I'm about to turn 43
Anyway, I feel like a kid again since I recently got back into rc cars. Main difference now is that I have a whole lot less time and a whole lot more money

Sorry to throw the "O" word out there.
I decided to go to college a couple of years ago, so I've gotten pretty comfortable with it.
In the academic world the PC term is "non-traditional" student.
