Gopro 960 cam

Post by vintage AE »

I got a gopro 960 cam today, and for those who don't know what this is, it's a small digital video camera that comes with several mounts. This bad boy can be mounted on just about anything...it's way aweaome.

I'm away on vacation just now, but tried it out on my RC10 I brought along on the roads out front of the house I'm at. here is the youtube link to my first run. I'm sure there will be much better videos to come.

Cool, love seeing the front suspension load in the turns! Can you mount it inside for a driver view?

Where you at? Looks warmer! Never even had a chance to speak at Midnight Madness! :(

hey rod,

yeah, i missed you then, because you seemed pretty busy. I'm in virginia right now. It was 19deg out today, which was nice compared to the -28 the day before I left Calgary.

I could mount it upside down inside. I can set the camera to record upside down so everything is right side up

Maybe I will try it later, or once I get to Reggies.

BTW I got my Wraith and will be mounting the camera to that once I get it going. So far I got a 3s lipo and paddle tires, wont be long before it's FOFF ready :D

well Rod, Reggie and I tried to get some video from inside the RC10. We, were some what sucessful. The card only had enough memory memory for a couple test videos and then a few seconds on his track.

Anyway here is how it looked from the inside. With some more effort I think the video could look pretty good.

Wow, that worked better than I thought it would  , just wish I could have found some of our HDSD cards :? Other than the one in our camera- still a new mount and a good card and I think it would be killer, the view through the windshield was great!

Got a question about the GoPro HD version of this cam.

I have one put aside where I work, almost new, It has been used 4-5 times and comes with everything included when you buy it new.

I am paying $150, minus my staff discount so $120 + tax. I think it is around the $300 mark new.

Do you guys think it is worth it? I am not big into recording alot things like this, but it could be a fun venture.

I just don't know how much use I am going to get out of it. That money could be spent on getting one of my Losi buggies on the mend.

Just a quick opinion if you could Vintage AE, sorry to sidetrack the thread for a post or two. Thanks!

I like the offroad video from inside the car. The glare from the low sun was an issue, but that's an easy one to resolve.

Where my son and I ride our dirtbikes, we see a lot of the riders with these cameras stuck to their helmets these days. I've been wanting one for a while now. I hope Santa got my letter.

This one was $130 at Costco, and the father-in-law bought it for me

So, yes it was worth it, but not if it's $300, wow!

He's getting the HD one which is the shiz! Yes it's well worth it at that discount price. Even if you don't do any sports, you could strap it to a cat and scare the crap out of him! Make sure you show the vid here first!

Was it a sale? I can't find it on the Costco website. I'd buy one at $130.
