Help with ID.. 1/12th scale on road...
Well, I posted this in the AE forum thinking it might be an early AE car (I am no expert
), with little response. So hopefully I will get better feedback here. Anyways, got a tip on an old car and wonder if it is anythong special, and if it is worth what the guy is asking. Thanks -Jeff

Re: Help with ID.. 1/8th scale on road...
Reminds me of the early 70s PB Can Am cars... I think PB's first car was a Porsche 917. Good luck!
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Jus realized this is a 1/12th scale car
-(look at the servo openings and hardware size). Anyways, still need an id. Thanks -Jeff

If it's 1/12th, Jerobee made some bitd but not sure that one looks like theirs. I think RC10resto has some and maybe he can give some insight.

No clue
Doesn't look like a Jerobee or Jomac - maybe a later MRP

I think it looks to advanced for the Jerobee 1/12. Can you find out what the wheelbase of this car is?

My first car was a Jerobee, and it was nothing like this. This looks to be a small scale 1/8th scale copy. It does not however look like a 1 off to me. Thanks -Jeff

I'd bet that's a mid-70's 1/8 car, perhaps with a .19 engine that was kind of the "stock" class back then. Snap some more pics of the wheels.
The body looks to be a Porsche 917 30KL, the real car didn't come out until 1972 so this RC car is later than that.

Here is two more pics. The wheels look 12th scale, and the hardware on the back (to me, e.g. scale, proportions etc.) look to make it 12th scale. That combined with the the guy telling me its a 12th scale, makes me think its 12th scale

That's an SG decal on the rear fin.
Pics of the wheels will help identify it.
Wheelbase measurements and tire measurements would help too.

Looks similar to the SG in the first photo:
http://www.rcmagvintage.com/reviews/retro/voitures/piste/musee/sg/sg.htm
Dig around on that site, lots of old pics there.
Still sayin' it's a 1/8 car. All of the old 1/12 gas cars that I know of used .049 engines and were really cramped for space for the fuel tank, electronics etc.

Re: Help with ID.. 1/12th scale on road...
Well, when I first saw it I though it was an 1/8th scale car (layout and such), but after the owner said it was 12th scale I started to wonder. The thing that throws me off the most however is the motor. It looks like no .049 I have seen from that era (and as an old model airplane guy, I have seen a few
). So hopefully the guy will get back to me with more pics and measurements. -Jeff

Re: Help with ID.. 1/12th scale on road...
Maybe an ALFA ROMEO GRAUPNER 1/12 1982

http://www.retromodelisme.com/page_magazine/9487/auto-rcm-hs-7-avr-1982-page-25.html
The chassis look is similar but the tank is in the car on your and at the back in the ALFA, maybe an update or later product...

The chassis design is similar to Todoroki Road Ace and Izumi Mach Line.
