Rc10 addiction

Post by Bmw1tech »

So I'm new to this particular forum and I love it! You all seem very knowledgeable on topic.
I've been running Rc since the early 90's. Recently I became addicted to gold tub rc10's thanks to you guys. I went to the Dr. To try and give me something for this addiction and he said that I was rc10 edinger deprived.
Problem is I and like many others can't find a nice one out there.
What are some good options to try and find one out there? Piece one together? Also what is the AVERAGE going rate for a NICE 84' edinger rolling chassis these days? Thanks for the help

I agree with the addiction. I am just rediscovering rc10's myself. I want to get me a gold pan but it has to wait. I am really in to the graphites right though. As for pieceing one together that might take a while unless you have deeper pockets than me. I am still working on getting my rear suspention and both shock towers for one of my graphites. Welcome aboard!

From what I've seen I would say around $300 give a take for an edinger car. Provided that the seller knows what they have. Best bet is ebay, there are always RC10's for sale you just have to look for the subtle things that make it an edinger car.

Thanks for the replys. Im going to keep looking on ebat etc. and find a resto. I'm going to take progress pics and post the results. I love the graphite car as well and that is on my list along with the worlds car... when I found out that Kinwald dumped associated for losi in 95 and associated took all his pictures off the box I had to laugh a bit. I guess i would have done the same. losi's are good cars and I race a couple today but my heart is with associated. whats up tho, when is the b5 coming out? im ready. I guess if it aint broke dont fix it, right.

Welcome to the forum! You should really look into some associated cars for your current race vehicles as well!

Haha, yeah. Full disclosure: I know this guy. He's pretty cool besides that he drives losis. :D I have a b4.1 and a t4 at the moment. We both got a sudden renewed interest in the vintage stuff and are here to oogle some old RC cars.

I do. Did you forget the b44.1?
I actually met Timmahhh Rc car racing when we were like 13. What was that like almost 20 years ago Tim?

Hi Steve!

Chad, it was long enough ago that:
The cars we used to race remind us of " the old days"
And
Those same cars seem to be more expensive now than they were then. Haha

That's what you pay for quality

Hey Steve! Didn't know that was you. If you come by the series race on Saturday please bring the 84 rc10. I want to see that thing!

And for everyone else in the Chicagoland area, we are trying to set up a vintage race soon here. Thinking of doing prizes as well, but open for options.

Nice! Haha, but in this case its true. I wish there was still a made in the USA seal on the associated boxes. My 15ish year old b3 has less slop than the 4.1.

That bums me out that we don't have our own making the parts anymore. I was talking with a friend about that the other day. He owns and injection molding company and supposedly bid a job for one of the Rc car manufacturers and they turned him down over a penny. He said he could make whatever part it was for like 4cents and charge them 6 cents and I guess china was doing it for 5 cents.
