rear arm mounts
rear arm mounts
my dilema is i want stronger rear arm mounts and im really limited on what i have laying around and just dont know if what i have will survive the season im gonna put my truck through. any suggestions as to what to run or where to buy from?. i have rpm arms all the way around and rpm front mini bumper already and im searching for more durable parts to replace worn or components that i feel are not gonna handle the abuse.
do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?

Re: rear arm mounts
You'd be suprised at what the stock 1.5's will take as abuse- I've been racing a 10t and 10 weekly with stock parts for over a year with only one rear mount failure and weekly top 3 finishes.

Re: rear arm mounts
i really dont have alot laying around and what i have may not hold up since they may be to dry and brittle. ive thought about rpm but i dont think i seen any on ebay and hg would be ideal but i want the mout to give before a chassis and the hg stuff is a bit out of budget for me. what part number for rpm would work?Charlie don't surf wrote:You'd be suprised at what the stock 1.5's will take as abuse- I've been racing a 10t and 10 weekly with stock parts for over a year with only one rear mount failure and weekly top 3 finishes.

Re: rear arm mounts
Just my .02, but if you use HG or RPM toe blocks because your worried about breaking them, what's going to break in place of them? Rear arms, because they are disco'ed too-
Re: rear arm mounts
IMHO this is alot of worry for little to no reason. i have yet to break one of these 20+ year old parts and i've run various versions of the rc10 pretty frequently, old is new, 10t in mod and stock class, stock ce, no breaks at all in the past two years with mostly nos parts.
had a pretty new novak 8.5 go bad in the 10t and one body mount break, thats it.
run'em, they're old but tough.

Re: rear arm mounts
i lust know that my luck i will get on the track and some misguided soul would stuff my grandpa truck into a wall and ill be broken. as far as the rpm rear arms i have a few sets front and rear. i got them for a steal so i couldnt pass them up...and with me building an orange tub white parts rc10 t ill have them on it ,the one im upgrading for myself to run next series and the carbon chassis version i just got in the mail today that i scored on ebay. the reason the rear arm mounts are a worry to me is the fact that after 4 laps with my rc10 buggy runner i had one give and it looked to be because it was brittle. im gonna scrounge on ebay for the rpm versions as piece of mind but ill run what i have as far as stockers and see what happens. thanks for the part number slow_jun
